American Club of the Riviera
For more than 50 years, The American Club of the Riviera has offered Americans living / working / visiting the South of France the opportunity to meet and enjoy the company of like-minded others in a friendly social environment.
The Club’s activities also attract non-Americans, and perhaps half of its members are not U.S. citizens. The Club welcomes those who may have worked for U.S. companies, or married Americans, or lived in the U.S., or just wish to share experiences with Americans.
Members of the American Club live across the Riviera, and its recent activities have taken place in Nice, Cannes, Monaco, Antibes, Menton, Biot, Villefranche, Cap Ferrat, Mougins, La Cole-sur-Loup, Juan-les-Pins, Vence, the technology park at Sophia Antipolis, and even across the Italian border in Bordighera.
These events have included visits to a vineyard, art gallery, olive mill, glass blowing, château, golf course, museums and the Cannes Film Festival – and always with fine food and wine in lovely restaurants. We have celebrated Valentine’s Day, American Election night, the 4th of July (with fireworks), and - a highlight of the year – Thanksgiving. To this traditional lunch event, which attracted 160+ last year, the Club invites U.S. military personnel serving in Europe – far away from home, and offers them an American family experience for the day, albeit in the splendor of the Hotel de Paris or Hotel Hermitage in Monte Carlo.
Although non-members are invited to most of our events, priority is given to Members, who also enjoy other benefits.
