The Austro-American Society Salzburg
The AAS-Salzburg is a Friendship Society that strives to deepen friendship and understanding between the two countries. The AAS is a bipartisan, ecumenical and non-profit association. The AAS is a meeting place and point of contact. The AAS welcomes everybody that is interested in culture and history of the United States and who seeks cultural, economic and scientific exchanges.
The AAS-Salzburg wants to promote deeper understanding between Salzburg and the United States of America. In this context Salzburg not only is an Austrian State, but also sees itself as an integral part of the European Union. The AAS provides co-operation with the US-Embassy, with universities of both countries and other US-related institutions in order to offer social gatherings as well as to create a platform for critical and analytical discussions. In our programming it is our greatest concern to demonstrate the interculturality of Austrian as well as of American society.
